We are at an RV park in Pelham, AL. Pelham is a suburb to Birmingham where Martin Luther King wrote a letter from jail stating that resisting "unjust laws" was necessary and as citizens it was a right. Birmingham was a major steel production area and the Sloss furnace a Historic Landmark tells visitors much about those times. Our route to this area from Tifton, GA, was on Route 82. We wound through beautiful agricultural and ranchlands passing many small towns of the rural South. This struck me as a very beautiful region where Americans live their lives working hard and sticking to their core values. Hundreds of churches and meeting halls dot this part of our country. We'll be headed to Shiloh today. Happy Trails!
