A day

Jack has been fishing every day so I have a lot of private time on my hands.  That's not always a good thing as I can get into trouble...internet shopping...eating snacks...too much web time...crazy dog pics...and much, much, more.  I did do one thing constructive.  I processed a few of my recent photos.  Here's a couple taken with my Nikon.

Redding and Humboldt County

Being back in California is quite a change.  Jack has always loved this area for it's natural beauty and outstanding fly fishing options.  He hasn't had time to fish for quite a while but this is not the location he had in mind last month.  But just like life in a regular house, sometimes things change and adjustments are needed.  We're not sure of our immediate plans but for the moment we are in one of North America's most beautiful places. 

Humboldt County is in the Redwoods and is quite beautiful.  Unfortunately, it has weather patterns like the Pacific North West..it is the Pacific Northwest being just an hours drive from the coast Oregon border.  Temperatures rarely exceed 70 in the hottest part of the year and it rains quite a lot.  Check out these hot links for further investigation of places like Trinidad, CA.  September and October are the months to travel to this part of California.  If you fish, check out Burney Falls State Park and the Umpqua River in the Roseburg, Oregon areas.  You won't be disappointed.

After looking these resources over or traveling through this region you might ask why we left such a beautiful place.  It's an easy answer, there are many beautiful places to visit and as fulltime RVers we don't have to choose just one place.  While we're here in this area we'll be revisiting places we haven't seen for more than a year.  Then we'll leave for some other beautiful and interesting locale.

Autumn in Monson, Massachusetts

We are currently parked in a wonderful country setting at Sunsetview Farm Campground.
More photos will be posted later as we no longer have our high speed connection and must tolerate a very slow upload to the site.  Fall is all around as the leaves have begun to turn and this upcoming weekend will be the critical leaf peepers' weekend. (Click on leaf peepers' link to find out about fall folliage in various areas of New England and the Northeastern states.)   Monson is located in the Quaboag Hills area quite near the antiques hotspot of Brimfield, MA and the historical village of Sturbridge.

Besides the sights to see in Monson and the surrounding areas, this is the area where Jack's relatives live.  We're really looking forward to seeing aunts, uncles, cousins that Jack hasn't seen in years.
