To all of our friends and family who've been wondering if we still like our fulltiming RVing lifestyle, we love it more than we even imagined. Having the freedom and flexibility to stay or go wherever we like is a real benefit after our decades of constrained working lifestyles. We're not rolling in excess dough but we're more than able to live within the bounds of our resources if we are careful.
We spent a quiet New Years Eve in our portable house at our park on the bayou in Florida. It was less noisy here than it was in Northern California when our rural neighbors ignited and blasted their canon over the valley every year on New Years. Daisy, the golden, isn't fond of thunder or booming sounds so we had some consoling to do when other park residents set off a few fireworks but otherwise we had a lovely transition from '05 to '06. We expect this new year to offer us many opportunities to experience new things and to deal with life's normal challenges; all the stuff everyone else deals with day to day.
On the first day of 2006 we visited with Jack's Oregon fishing friends, Mary and Nick, who are now living near Clearwater and heard all the news about their large family. They have been blessed with many grandchildren and Nick has lots of opportunity to participate in fantasy football competition. A few weeks ago their oldest daughter gave birth to twins. And in a few more months, another daughter will have her much awaited 8th child. Wow, that's a mini baby boom. Congratulations!
Today will be spent with regular exercise on the bike trail, getting our house in order and planning our next nature hike. We have a dozen places on our list of excellent birding locations and are anxious to get to them. We received confirmation of the extension we requested and will now be here in this park until March 1. My brother is auto racing at Sebring in a week or so and we'll be driving over to visit with him. We are both hoping for some good photo opportunities.
To all of you who may be thinking that you'd like to participate in the Rving lifestyle, we highly recommend it. We're a couple who never even considered doing this kind of vagabond lifestyle when we were in our work-a-day world. If you're not sure, check out the many fulltimer journals that can be found on the web. And lastly, we wish everyone a Happy and Healthy New Year!
