We had a nice drive through farmlands from Liberty, MO on I-29 to Rte 2 connecting to I-80 in Nebraska. The rain warning never materialized, thanfully. We stopped at a Walmart in York, NE where we've stayed before. Our plan to reach Sparks, NV by Wednesday isn't going to happen. We will probably be there on Saturday. Since we're not on a firm schedule for the first stay we can add the days without stress.
Our visit with friends in Liberty, MO was great. We got a locals tour of the quaint town and it's architecture. I hope to spend a little more time in Liberty when the temperatures are a little more agreeable. The weather warnings were alarming but nothing much happened, as I previously posted, so we left without fanfare. By the way, the Truman Library is in Independence and I plan on spending some time there next time.
Tonight we are parked next to folks from near Baton Rouge, LA. They have traveled extensively in their RVs over many years. They've been to Alaska four times...amazing! They've been to all the parks with Yellowstone being one of the favorites. It was fun hearing their stories in the middle of the Walmart parking lot. That's the beauty of this traveling lifestyle, we meet the most interesting folks.
Tomorrow is Cabela's in Sidney (been there before - look in archives).
Happy Trails!
