We arrived safely in Washington, N.C. after an interesting drive over the Chesapeake Bridge Tunnel. We accomplished this interesting drive with little traffic and no mishaps. Unfortunately we ran into another unexpected tunnel when we hit Norfolk and somehow got off the planned route. We made it through the tight tunnel and then realized that we were going to have to reroute ourselves. After a stop at a fuel station where we completely blocked incoming customers, we got ourselves turned around and reconnected with our planned highway. Then we hit the draw bridge that is only open once each hour. We thought we were in a construction area held back by a flagman but later found out about the draw bridge schedule. It was quite a day but experiences like these just reinforce that RVers can work out just about all problems with minimal stress. Here are some of the photo highlights.
