We attended the Rolling Thunder event in DC yesterday. The thousands of bikes rolling through our Capitol was amazing. We heard comments from Congressman West from our new home state, Admiral Mullen and Secretary of Defense Gates. The comments were inspirational and learning more about the charitable efforts of this non profit group on behalf of veterans is a great thing. We didn't see Sarah Palin as she kept a pretty low profile but I find it interesting that in all the hoopla..journalists don't mention that son Track Palin is a veteran who served in the Striker Brigade. The monies donated to Rolling Thunder go to vets who are having financial difficulties. Now that is a cause of giving I support wholeheartedly.
I've posted this photo of Jack's Dad's service at Arlington but I never get tired of seeing it:
I hope that no matter where Americans are they take a few moments to think about those who have served so that we may be free.
