I've posted a number of times (and photos) of our two dogs Mack and Daisy. They are pretty old now, 14 and 12 respectively. It has always been a logistics issue to deal with large dogs who were meant for the great outdoors while living in a small space but now we are facing a BIG challenge. Mack has been showing a number of aging signs in the past few months. He seems to have digestive disorders and has become increasingly anxious. He was always a little on the hyper side but now he really becomes thoroughly agitated when certain things happen (or don't). We have been coping as best as we can because he is a family member but the stress is increasing for us. Yesterday after watching the dog pace, wimper and insist on going "out" when he didn't need to, we took him for a vet exam. The vet said there can be a number of reasons for all his anxiety and gave us a very expensive estimate for doing tests to rule out various illnesses. He also gave us a prescription for anti anxiety medication. After two days on the meds he just doesn't seem to be improving in the anxiousness. We are hoping in a day or two things will change but it's very difficult to deal with an upset dog in a motorhome.
On another topic, our friend Lana posted a photograph she took in Harpers Ferry. She used an artistic technique on her photo to give it an aged appearance so it isn't straight out of the camera but I love how she dressed up the very ordinary storefront that we visited when we were in Harpers Ferry. I think this makes a great "postcard" to remember one of the sights of the town.
